The Sacrament of Holy Baptism
Baptism is God's action. It's a command of Jesus using earthly elements rooted in the promise of God as Jesus told his disciples, "Go... baptize, preach and teach all that I have commanded you and remember... I will be with you always until the end of time."
According to the Bible Holy Baptism offers five gifts: Forgiveness of original sin - Names and claims each one a child of God - Makes one a member of the Body of Christ - Provides the gift of the Holy Spirit - Grants the gift of eternal life.
Christ Lutheran Church offers baptism to infants, young children, teens, young adults, those of middle age and the elderly. It is not something that happens to a person on a particular day in time.
