Our youth program‘s Mission Statement:

To help our youth experience the Joy and Excitement of knowing our Savior and becoming United with fellow Christians for Service.

The lifeblood of any congregation is its youth, and Christ Lutheran makes every effort to welcome, educate, and support its young people from nursery school to adulthood:

Christian Education and Support:

A nursery is provided at 9:00 a.m. during Sunday School, at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, and during many special functions. Children from birth to age 4 are welcome. The nursery is coordinated and staffed by members of the congregation.

Sunday School classes for children from age 3 through high school are offered weekly at 9:00 a.m.

A special children’s time is provided as a part of the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Children are invited to the chancel area to hear a special message.

First communion classes are held each year to prepare children for the reception of Holy Communion.

Confirmation Classes are offered for a two-year period beginning in grade 7. Classes meet during the school year, and depending on the age of the student, include weekly instruction in Christian faith and Lutheran doctrine, special outings, and projects that lead the students to grow in their faith.

Youth Groups:

Cherubs is a group for our youngest members, Pre-K and their parents, to experience the love of God and the fellowship of one another.

Christian Friends is a group for those in K-4. This group participates throughout the year in activities that encourage fellowship and living a Christian lifestyle.

Genesis (grades 5-6) and Flames (grades 7-8) are groups for our pre-high school students. These groups each meet at least monthly for special activities and service opportunities.

The Hi League is for students in grades 9 through 12. The group meets at least once each month for educational, service, and fellowship activities. The Hi League stresses being a full value group, where each person is respected and accepted. It is an active participant in synod and national youth programs sponsored by the ELCA.

Youth Outreach:

CLC’s concern for youth extends beyond our congregation. A portion of our Sunday School collection goes to the Christian Children’s Fund. It provides financial support for medical care, education, and nutrition for children in other parts of the world. We currently support two children through this fund.
